Duties and Responsibilities
Carrying out specific procedures, performing operations, and conducting specialist investigations.
Taking overall responsibility for daily clinical assessments and prescriptions for all patients attending the hospital.
Making notes and preparing documentation, both as a legal record of treatment and to benefit other healthcare professionals.
Keeping referring doctors informed of both inpatient and outpatient progress.
Maintaining patient rights and confidentiality at all times.
Coordinating Continuous Medical Education (CME) sessions as per facility norms.
Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for emergency case management and pre-operative care.
Contributing clinical expertise to patient care and providing guidance to junior physicians.
Liaising with both medical and non-medical hospital staff to ensure quality treatment.
Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations and safety standards.
Providing educational and clinical training for clinical staff, and staying up to date with new healthcare regulations.
Qualification Requirements and Key Competencies
Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery from a recognized university.
Registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
Valid practicing license from KMPDC.
Valid Indemnity Insurance Certificate.
1 - 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
Experience in clinical risk management and medical documentation.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
