KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Policy and program management: Develop, implement and manage comprehensive health and safety programs and policies at project sites.
Compliance and reporting: Ensure the project meets all company, industry and regulatory guidelines. This includes maintaining required safety documentation and submitting reports
Morning Briefings: Conducting safety briefings at the beginning of each workday to highlight potential hazards, discuss safety measures and reinforce the importance of adherence to safety protocols.
Collaboration: Work closely with project management teams, engineers and subcontractors to address safety concerns and develop site-specific safety plans and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs).
Site Safety Walkthroughs: Regularly walking through construction sites to visually inspect ongoing work, identify potential safety risks and engage with workers to address any concerns
Site inspections and risk assessment: Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and project-specific safety plans.
Accident investigation: Serve as the primary contact for incident and injury notification, leading the investigation of accidents to determine root causes and prevent future occurrences.
Training and education: Develop and deliver site orientation, safety meetings and other training programs for all site personnel, including subcontractors.
Documentation and records: Organize and maintain all necessary project safety documentation and records.
Emergency response: Develop and implement emergency preparedness and response plans, such as traffic control plans.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related discipline
NEBOSH Training will be an added advantage
3 Years hands on experience in handling Safety and health issues in a busy manufacturing industry.
Training in QMS, FSMS, EMS, Firefighting and First Aid will be an added advantage
Expert knowledge of OSH, WIBA, EMCA and subsidiary legislation
