Job Summary
The Sales Canvasser - Animal Feeds will be responsible for promoting and selling animal feed products while actively recruiting and managing poultry farmers engaged in chicken-rearing operations.
The ideal candidate must possess strong field sales experience in feedmill companies, excellent relationship management skills, and a solid technical understanding of poultry nutrition and farm operations.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, recruit, and onboard chicken-rearing farmers for the company's feed business
Promote and market animal feed products to poultry farmers, distributors, and farm operators
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective poultry farmers
Conduct regular farm visits to provide product support and maintain customer engagement
Achieve assigned sales targets and expand market penetration within designated territories
Provide technical guidance to farmers on feed usage, poultry nutrition, and farm performance improvement
Monitor farmers' feed consumption patterns and recommend suitable feed solutions
Gather market intelligence on competitor activities, pricing, and customer trends
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales and customer activity reports
Ensure timely collection of customer payments and follow up on outstanding receivables
Collaborate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely product delivery
Organize field demonstrations, farmer engagement activities, and product awareness campaigns
Maintain accurate customer database and sales records
Support the development of strategies to increase customer retention and market share
Ensure compliance with company sales policies and ethical business practices
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, or related disciplines
Additional certifications in sales or poultry management will be an added advantage.
Experience & Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales and canvassing roles within feedmill or animal feed companies
Strong experience recruiting and managing poultry/chicken rearing farmers
Good technical knowledge of poultry farming, animal nutrition, and feed products
Proven track record of achieving sales targets in the agricultural or feed industry
Strong customer relationship and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and manage field sales activities effectively
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and sales reporting
Must be willing to travel frequently for field operations
A valid driver's license will be an added advantage
