Job Summary


The Sales Executive will be responsible for driving sales growth across Lagos Island and Yaba by identifying new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and meeting revenue targets.
The role requires a good understanding of the building materials and adhesives trade, the ability to present and sell products effectively, and a commitment to delivering a consistent customer experience across the assigned territory.


Key Responsibilities


Identify and develop new sales opportunities within the assigned territory through field visits, cold calls, and referrals
Promote and sell Cormart's adhesive product range — Bond (contact adhesive), PVC Glue, Sealants, and Waterproof Powder — to hardware retailers, building material dealers, contractors, furniture makers, and distributors
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business and account growth
Educate customers on correct product application and usage to ensure satisfaction and minimise complaints
Prepare and deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations where required
Negotiate and close sales in line with company pricing and credit policies
Achieve and exceed assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets and KPIs
Conduct regular market visits to monitor competitor activity, pricing, and product movement within the territory
Ensure Cormart products are visible and available at key retail and distribution points across the territory
Follow up on payments and ensure customers settle outstanding balances within the agreed credit terms
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer visits, and account transactions
Provide regular sales reports and activity updates to the line manager
Handle customer complaints professionally and ensure prompt resolution


Requirements


Bachelor's degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
Minimum of 2 - 4 years of proven experience as a Sales Executive or in a similar field sales role, preferably within building materials, adhesives, FMCG, or industrial products
Solid knowledge of the assigned territory — its markets, trade channels, and customer base
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently, manage a territory effectively, and meet targets with minimal supervision
Excellent customer service orientation and complaint-handling skills
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Willingness to traverse extensively within the assigned territory.
