Job Purpose
The Bar Sales Executive is responsible for driving revenue, expanding guest clientele, and promoting beverage sales across our premium establishment in Victoria Island. This role combines client acquisition, event sales, guest relationship management, and beverage promotion to maximize bar profitability and elevate the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Sales & Revenue Generation
Proactively identify, pitch, and convert corporate, high-net-worth individual (HNWI), and group bookings for bar tables, VIP lounges, and private events.
Upsell high-margin spirits, wine pairings, signature cocktails, and bottle service packages to guests.
Develop and execute creative promotional campaigns and beverage activation strategies (e.g., Happy Hours, theme nights, corporate mixers) to drive foot traffic.
Meet and exceed weekly and monthly sales targets for the bar department.
Relationship & Guest Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with regular patrons, corporate clients, event planners, and concierges within Victoria Island and surrounding areas.
Manage guest reservations, table bookings, and VIP hospitality to deliver an exceptional guest experience from initial inquiry to post-visit follow-up.
Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and special requests promptly and professionally.
Market Intelligence & Promotions
Monitor hospitality and nightlife trends in Victoria Island and surrounding upscale hubs (Ikoyi, Lekki Phase 1).
Collaborate with the marketing and mixology teams to craft promotional menus, seasonal drink offerings, and digital campaign content.
Establish strategic partnerships with corporate firms, brand ambassadors, and luxury brands for co-hosted events and brand sponsorships.
Operations & Reporting
Work closely with the lead bartender, head mixologist, and floor staff to ensure seamless execution of service during peak operational hours and private events.
Maintain an up-to-date client database and CRM tracking for reservation histories and guest preferences.
Prepare weekly sales forecasts, performance reports, and event summaries for management review.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Hospitality, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 1 - 3 years of proven sales or hospitality experience, preferably in upscale bars, luxury hotels, lounges, or high-end restaurants in Lagos (prior network in Victoria Island/Ikoyi/Lekki is a strong advantage).
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to hit and exceed sales quotas.
Strong knowledge of fine wines, premium spirits, craft beers, and cocktail culture.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with POS systems, client reservation platforms, and MS Office / Google Workspace.
