Job Description
A well-established industrial solutions company is looking for an experienced Sales Person with a strong background in technical sales of chemical raw materials and mechanical/engineering products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing customer relationships, and growing sales across the mining, oil & gas, water treatment, manufacturing, and industrial sectors.
Responsibilities:
Develop new business opportunities and manage existing customer accounts.
Promote and sell chemical raw materials and mechanical/engineering products.
Provide technical sales support and product recommendations to clients.
Prepare quotations, tenders, and negotiate contracts.
Manage the full sales cycle from enquiry through to order fulfilment and after-sales support.
Liaise with internal departments to coordinate procurement, logistics, and project requirements.
Build and maintain relationships with customers across mining, oil & gas, water treatment, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, municipal, and industrial sectors.
Coordinate project schedules, customer communication, and commercial administration.
Monitor project progress, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with quality, health and safety, and ISO standards.
Maintain accurate sales reports, forecasts, and customer records.
Continuously develop technical product knowledge and industry expertise.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years' technical sales experience within the chemical, mining, or mechanical engineering industries.
Experience selling chemical raw materials, industrial chemicals, pumps, valves, instrumentation, or related engineering products.
Strong understanding of the mining, industrial, or petrochemical sectors.
Experience with tendering, contract negotiations, and project management.
Sales Management Diploma or relevant sales qualification preferred.
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within Gauteng.
