Person Specifications (Education, Experience & Competencies)
Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics, Aeronautical/Aerospace, Remote Sensing, Geographical Information Science, Geo-Spatial Engineering, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Control and Instrumentation, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Proficiency in computer applications.
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementing policies and strategies related to Satellite Communications under supervision;
Conducting basic technical assessments of stakeholder communication needs and infrastructure gaps;
Compiling technical information and contribute to the drafting of simple reports or input into research papers;
Coordinating activities, promoting secure and inclusive access to satellite-based communication services;
Undertaking the maintenance and setup of Satellite Communications infrastructure and equipment;
Help coordinate data related to satellite frequency allocation and system usage; and
Monitor basic operational aspects of Satellite Communications systems and assist in compiling compliance reports.
