Summary:
The Revenue Growth Management Commercial Manager will play a functional role within RGM project engagements, bringing strong commercial and industry experience to support better decision-making across pricing, promotions, assortment, trade investment, customer profitability, and portfolio management.
The role combines practical, hands-on industry experience — for example, as a Key Account Manager, in Commercial Finance, or within an RGM team — with the ability to apply that experience to structured consulting engagements. The successful candidate will bring real-world commercial judgement to bear on analytical outputs, helping to ensure that recommendations are grounded, credible, and genuinely actionable for clients.
The role will work closely with senior commercial stakeholders, data scientists, business analysts, and delivery teams. The Manager will be responsible for ensuring that RGM solutions are commercially relevant, practically deliverable, and successfully embedded into business processes. An appetite for working with new technology and AI-enabled tools is highly valued, even where prior hands-on experience is limited.
Responsibilities of role:
Commercial and Industry Expertise
Bring first-hand commercial or industry experience (e.g., Key Account Management, Commercial Finance, Category Management, or RGM) to bear on client engagements.
Provide a practitioner's perspective on how pricing, promotional, trade investment, and assortment decisions are made and executed in the real world.
Sense-check analytical outputs and recommendations against commercial reality and client ways of working.
Help translate theoretical or analytical RGM concepts into practical, implementable actions for commercial teams.
Support clients in understanding how recommended changes will affect day-to-day commercial operations, customer relationships, and negotiations.
RGM Project Delivery
Play an active functional role across RGM project workstreams, including pricing, promotions, trade investment, assortment, product mix, customer segmentation, and profitability.
Support the definition of business requirements, hypotheses, and analytical use cases based on commercial experience.
Work with data science, analytics, and technology colleagues to ensure outputs are grounded in commercial reality.
Contribute to the development of practical recommendations, business cases, and implementation plans.
Support scenario planning and options analysis, providing commercial input on the feasibility and impact of different approaches.
Track the practical impact of implemented recommendations and identify opportunities for further value creation.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders across commercial, sales, marketing, finance, and category management functions.
Act as a credible, relatable voice for client commercial teams, drawing on shared professional experience.
Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather commercial input, validate findings, and build buy-in for recommendations.
Communicate analytical findings and recommendations in clear, commercially relevant language.
Support client presentations, business reviews, and decision-making forums.
Manage stakeholder expectations regarding scope, timelines, and deliverables.
Technology and AI Enablement
Demonstrate curiosity and appetite for new technology, digital tools, and AI-enabled approaches to commercial decision-making.
Support the adoption of new analytical tools, dashboards, and AI-driven capabilities within client organisations.
Work with technical colleagues to understand how new technologies can enhance commercial processes and decision-making.
Contribute a practitioner's perspective on the usability and practical value of new tools and technologies.
Stay abreast of emerging trends in commercial technology, automation, and AI relevant to RGM.
Change Management and Adoption
Support the development of adoption and change-management approaches for new commercial processes, tools, and ways of working.
Assess organisational and commercial readiness for change, drawing on first-hand experience of similar transitions.
Work with business leaders to embed new tools and approaches into planning, governance, and commercial-management processes.
Support the development of training material, communication packs, and support content.
Help build user confidence and adoption by relating new approaches back to familiar commercial contexts.
Team Collaboration and Capability Development
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams, including data scientists, analysts, and technology specialists.
Share commercial and industry knowledge with colleagues to strengthen the team's practical understanding of client environments.
Support the development of junior team members' commercial acumen and industry awareness.
Contribute to a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
Help develop reusable commercial frameworks, playbooks, and practical tools drawing on real-world experience.

Support the development of proposals, business cases, and client presentations, bringing an incredible industry perspective.
Identify opportunities to extend existing client engagements based on a strong understanding of client commercial needs.
Contribute to project resourcing, planning, and commercial governance.
Support the development of market propositions and industry-specific solutions.
Maintain awareness of emerging trends in commercial practice, Revenue Growth Management, and relevant technology and AI developments.
