Makini Schools is seeking a warm, experienced, and compassionate School Nurse to join our caring school community. We are looking for a child-centered healthcare professional who is passionate about promoting the health, safety, and well-being of every learner. The School Nurse will provide daily medical care and first aid, support children with ongoing health needs, maintain health records, and respond calmly to emergencies. The role also involves nurturing healthy habits, supporting emotional well-being, and working closely with teachers and parents to ensure that children feel safe, cared for, and supported throughout the school day.

Experience
Clinical nursing experience - A minimum of five (5) years' hands-on nursing experience; Previous experience working with children, particularly in a school or paediatric setting, is highly preferred. • Experience working with children-prior work in settings involving child health, wellness, or education strengthens suitability.
Key Qualifications & Experience Required:
Registered Nurse qualification - Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (e.g., Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN) or BSc Nursing) from an accredited institution.
Valid practicing license issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK)-required to practice legally in Kenya.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), First Aid, and CPR-essential for emergency response in schools.
Skills and Attributes
Strong communication skills-to interact effectively with students, parents, teachers, and health professionals.
Child health knowledge-understanding growth stages, common childhood illnesses, vaccination schedules, and school health needs.
Emergency preparedness and calm decision-making- especially when responding to injuries or medical crises.
Record-keeping and confidentiality-ability to manage confidential health records accurately.
Empathy and child-centred care-patience, compassion, and a supportive approach to student well-being.
