JOB PURPOSE
The Security Intern will assist the Campus Security Department in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. He/ she will provide hands-on experience in campus safety operations, emergency response procedures, surveillance monitoring, and administrative support related to security management.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in monitoring and analysing security alerts and incidents.
Support vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities.
Participate in security awareness and training initiatives.
Conduct research on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends.
Assist with access control management and identity verification processes.
Support the security team in incident response and investigations.
Collaborate with ICT and compliance teams to ensure adherence to security best practices.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in ICT.
Relevant experience in physical security or a program related to criminology or security.
Basic understanding of information security principles, networks, and operating systems.
Familiarity with tools such as Wireshark, Nessus, Metasploit, or similar is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
