We are seeking a vigilant, courteous, and dependable Security Officer to join our team.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, staff, and hospital property.
Key Responsibilities
Control access to the hospital by checking identification and verifying authorized entry into the hospital and restricted areas.
Ensure the hospital gate remains secured at all times and promptly open and close it to facilitate the safe entry and exit of patients, visitors, staff, and authorized vehicles.
Conduct regular patrols of the hospital premises, including the building interior and surrounding grounds, to identify and prevent security risks.
Monitor, report, and respond appropriately to suspicious activities, security breaches, and safety concerns.
Respond effectively to emergencies, including medical emergencies, fire incidents, theft, disturbances, and other security-related situations, while coordinating with relevant personnel.
Manage visitors in accordance with hospital policies, ensuring proper registration and adherence to hospital guidelines.
Protect hospital property, equipment, patient belongings, and other assets from theft, vandalism, misuse, or damage.
Assist with crowd control and orderly movement of people during emergencies or high-traffic periods.
Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports, security logs, and other documentation as required.
Assist in safely wheeling patients within the hospital when required.
Provide reasonable assistance to patients, visitors, and staff whenever needed, recognizing that patient care and comfort are a shared responsibility of all hospital personnel.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information and hospital operations.
Ensure hospital rules, safety procedures, and security protocols are followed at all times.
Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, and other designated points to ensure safety and security.
Requirements
Minimum of an SSCE/WAEC qualification.
Previous security experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, will be an advantage.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies.
Physically fit and able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
Honest, trustworthy, alert, and dependable.
Ability to write clear and accurate reports.
