Job Summary
The Self Loader Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a self-loading truck, to load, transport, and offload heavy materials, equipment, and machinery.
The role requires adherence to safety regulations, proper equipment handling, and timely delivery to designated locations.
Key Responsibilities
Operate self-loader truck (HIAB) to lift, load, transport, and offload materials safely
Conduct daily vehicle and crane inspections before and after operations
Secure loads properly to prevent damage or accidents during transit
Ensure compliance with traffic laws, company policies, and HSE standards
Coordinate with site supervisors during lifting operations
Maintain accurate delivery logs and job documentation
Report mechanical faults, safety concerns, or incidents promptly
Perform basic vehicle maintenance and keep the truck clean and serviceable
Follow lifting plans and ensure safe working load limits are not exceeded.
Requirements & Qualifications
Valid driver's license appropriate for heavy-duty vehicles
Certification or training in self-loader/lorry crane operations (where applicable)
Minimum of 5 years relevant driving self-loader and operation experience
Good knowledge of road safety regulations and lifting procedures
Ability to read and understand lifting plans and safety instructions
Physically fit and safety-conscious
Good communication and teamwork skills.
