Job Purpose
The Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic financial planning for Rad borne Clark Kenya Ltd. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical ability, and leadership in guiding junior accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, Kenyan tax laws, and internal policies.
Oversee general ledger posting, reconciliations, and financial close processes.
Coordinate external audits and provide required documentation.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Monitor actual vs. budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Offer insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
Accounts Management
Review and approve journal entries, supplier invoices, and payment vouchers.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
Ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts, supplier accounts, and control accounts.
Taxation
Prepare and file statutory returns including VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, NSSF, NHIF, and corporate tax.
Ensure timely tax compliance and manage communication with KRA.
Advise management on tax planning and compliance risks.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to financial procedures.
Identify process gaps and recommend system enhancements.
Support implementation of accounting systems and automation tools.
Team Leadership
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
Provide technical guidance and ensure quality of their work.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA (K) / ACCA qualification required.
Minimum 5 - 7 years accounting experience, with at least 2 years at a senior level.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and Kenyan tax regulations.
Experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
