Habrams Energy Services is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead the day-to-day Finance and Accounts function. The role covers financial accounting, management reporting, project accounting, cash-flow management, financial controls and team leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the general ledger, accounting records, monthly/year-end close, management accounts and financial statements.
Review bank, receivables, payables and balance-sheet reconciliations and analyse financial performance and variances.
Prepare and monitor project budgets, revenue, costs, commitments and expenditure.
Monitor project margins, cost-to-complete, variations, unbilled revenue and project receivables.
Identify cost overruns and underperforming projects and support project close-out and profitability analysis.
Prepare cash-flow forecasts, monitor receivables, supplier obligations and working capital, and identify liquidity risks.
Prepare budgets and forecasts and provide financial analysis to support pricing, investments, major expenditure and new projects.
Maintain financial controls and segregation of duties and coordinate tax, statutory compliance and audit requirements.
Review and challenge unsupported or unusual transactions.
Supervise and develop two accounting staff, ensuring clear deadlines, accountability and financial discipline.
Provide management with practical financial insights and recommendations to improve profitability and control costs.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
ICAN, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
Minimum 5 years' progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior/supervisory role.
Strong experience in financial accounting, management reporting, project accounting, project cost control and profitability analysis.
Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow and working-capital management.
Experience supervising/coordinating accounting staff.
Strong knowledge of taxation, internal controls and statutory compliance.
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks or ERP systems.
Experience in Engineering, Oil & Gas, Construction, Consulting or another project-driven organisation is an advantage.
