Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Senior Automobile Technician / Workshop Supervisor to oversee daily workshop operations, ensure high-quality vehicle diagnostics and repairs, and supervise a team of technicians.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership ability to drive efficiency, safety, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily workshop activities and ensure timely completion of vehicle repairs and maintenance
Perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems
Assign tasks to technicians and monitor work quality and productivity
Inspect completed jobs to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for various vehicle types
Troubleshoot complex faults in engines, transmissions, braking, suspension, and electrical systems
Maintain accurate service records, job cards, and maintenance logs
Ensure proper use of diagnostic tools and workshop equipment
Enforce HSE policies and maintain a safe working environment
Train and mentor junior technicians to improve skill levels and performance
Liaise with customers or service advisors to provide technical feedback and repair updates
Monitor inventory of spare parts and coordinate with procurement when necessary.
Requirements
HND / B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields
4 - 6 years experience in automobile repair and maintenance, with 1 - 2 years in a supervisory role
Strong knowledge of vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, suspension, braking systems)
Experience using computerized diagnostic tools and equipment
Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Good communication and reporting skills.
