The Senior Human Resources Officer will implement HR policies and programs within the assigned business areas, supporting functions such as employee relations, HR compliance and administration, talent acquisition and onboarding, HRIS, learning and development, leave and performance management, compensation and benefits, and organizational development, as well as other HR tasks as assigned.


Responsibilities


Employee & Industrial Relations
Manage employee relations in line with labor laws and company policies, minimizing disputes.
Act as the key liaison between management, employees, and trade unions.
Handle grievance and disciplinary processes fairly and effectively. HR Compliance
Ensure compliance with HR policies, labor laws, and occupational health & safety regulations.
Coordinate and track statutory requirements, including training, audits, and medical fitness testing.
Change Management & Culture Development
Drive HR initiatives that strengthen workplace culture and employee engagement.
Support and facilitate change management aligned with organizational goals.
HR Administration
Maintain accurate HR records and reports, including payroll inputs, leave management, benefits administration, and contract management. Policy Formulation & Implementation
Contribute to the development, interpretation, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Ensure clear and proactive communication of HR policies across departments.
Recruitment & Talent Management
Lead end-to-end recruitment to attract and retain talent aligned with business needs.
Oversee onboarding, training, and succession planning initiatives. Performance Management
Support the implementation of performance management systems, including Job Description s, KPIs, appraisal tools, PIPS, and employee development programs.


Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognized university.
Higher National Diploma in Human Resources Management is an added advantage. Mandatory membership with IHRM.
Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) certification is desirable.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience managing HR processes in a labour-intensive, unionisable environment.
Proven expertise in industrial relations and hands-on experience working with trade unions.
Strong knowledge and practical experience in Kenyan labour laws.
