Duties and responsibilities:


Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Economics and Finance, specifically Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, Introduction to Mathematical Economics, Statistics for Economics, Econometrics, International Economics, Development Economics, and Personal Finance.
Participate actively in research and publications.
Ensure active participation in and contribution to the Faculty's research activities.
Supervise and provide consultation sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Work as a team with colleagues within the faculty.
Serve as a member of various academic committees within the faculty and university.
Participate in formal self-development programmes within the UFS aimed at strengthening aspirations and skills as a researcher and lecturer.
Contribute to research coordination and perform administrative tasks related to the discipline.


Inherent requirements:
Senior Lecturer:


PhD on NQF Level 10 in Economics or a related discipline.
Proven experience in presenting papers/posters at national and international scholarly conferences.
Proven national recognition for specialist expertise and research in a specific area of scholarship.
An NRF rating or demonstrated potential for obtaining an NRF rating.
Proven experience in successfully supervising master's degree students through to graduation.
A proven research record of relevant publications in peer-reviewed national and international DHET-accredited scientific journals.
Demonstrated ability to use Econometric software package(s) such as EViews, Stata, and R
Demonstrate sound knowledge and proficiency in coding using Python and apply this in the disciplines of Economics and Finance.
Proven experience of service as an active member of a national or international scholarly society or committee or agency concerned with research at higher-education levels.


Associate Professor


PhD on NQF Level 10 in Economics or related discipline.
Experience as an external examiner for postgraduate students.
Excellent research record of relevant publications in peer-reviewed national and international DHET-accredited scientific journals.
Proven national recognition for specialist expertise and research in a specific area of scholarship.
An NRF rating of C3 or equivalent status.
Proven track record of successfully supervising postgraduate students to completion at master's and PhD levels.
Demonstrated ability to use Econometric software package(s) such as EViews, Stata, and R.
Demonstrate sound knowledge and proficiency in coding using Python and apply this in the disciplines of Economics and Finance.
Proven experience of service as an active member of a national or international scholarly society or committee or agency concerned with research at Higher Education levels.


Recommendations:


Proven experience in supervising topics in Economics and Finance.
Proven lecturing and research experience in Higher Education.
Excellent research record.
