Job Objective
We are seeking a forward-thinking, industry-connected, and student-centric Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The ideal candidate has demonstrated the capability to bridge industry and academia, and their duties and responsibilities are as below:
Duties and responsibilities
They will be reporting to the Chairman of the Department of Information Communication Technology, Media, and Engineering and will be responsible for the following:
Teaching Electrical and Electronics Engineering course units allocated by the Chair of the Department.
Designing, developing, planning, and delivering a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.
Delivering high-quality lectures.
Reviewing course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required.
Collaborating with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes, and the development of research activities.
Carrying out research and writing research grant proposals.
Seeking and participating in consultancies.
Presenting research papers at national or international conferences and other similar events.
Disseminating research outputs.
Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.
Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
Qualification and experience
A minimum of a relevant PhD, Masters and Bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics Engineering, or a relevant field from an accredited and recognised University.
At least 3 years of teaching/research experience at the University level as a Lecturer/ Research Fellow.
Has evidence of publications as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
Supervised at least two (2) postgraduate students to completion.
Attracted research funds.
Has evidence of attending and contributing at academic conferences, seminars and workshops.
Is up to date with industry standards.
Valid membership with Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
