This is a senior position in the University teaching or research career. The appointee shall be expected to provide academic/research leadership to members in lower academic/research grades. Appointment is either on Permanent and Pensionable terms or on a three (3) year renewable performance-based contract, depending on age, citizenship, or any other reason.
REQUIREMENTS
Academic Qualifications
Must have Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and a Masters in Medicine in a surgical discipline (General Surgery or Plastic surgery or Pediatric Surgery) Or Member College of Surgeons (MCS) and Fellow college of Surgeons (General Surgery or Plastic surgery or Paediatric Surgery) Fellowship or PhD will be an added advantage

Be a member of relevant professional bodies
Have evidence of contribution to University/Research Institution through activities such as participation in Departmental management, students' academic /research advising,
school or University/Institutional meetings, committee membership and related matters Demonstrate community involvement (e.g. member of BOG)

Teach/conduct research and supervise students and /or staff
Design and develop academic programs and curricul
Publications
Minimum of one publication will be an added advantage
