KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Visual inspection of plant and machinery condition. Check chemical stock tank levels and report to the process manager. Plan shift staff availability. Record using excel spreadsheet flow and equipment run hours.
Report plant and machine breakdowns to maintenance and process manager. Follow-up reported breakdowns to facilitate plant and machine change over. Allocate and monitor operational duties to plant operators, operator drivers and general workers. Emphasize safe working procedures. Clearing blocked pipes and tanks. Assist process manager in sludge digestion problems.


JOB REQUIREMENTS: ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

For applicants with Minimum of 15 wastewater experience:


Std 9 / Grade11 (or NTCII) plus Operators certificate or
Std 9 / Grade11(or NTCII) plus Water and Wastewater Treatment Practice N2 or
Std 9 / Grade11(or NTCII) plus Core Unit Standards from the Wastewater NQF 3 qualification equivalents to a value of least 30 credits or
NTC II in Water and Wastewater Treatment practice or
Wastewater NQF 3 qualifications.


For applicants with minimum of 8 years Wastewater experience:


.Matric/Grade 12 (or NTC III) plus Operators Certificate or
Matric / Grade 12 (or NTC III) plus Wastewater Treatment practise N3 or
Matric / Grade 12 (or NTC III) plus the Core Unit Standards from the Water and Wastewater NQF 4 Qualification equivalent to a value of at least 30 credit or
NTC III in Wastewater Treatment practice or
Wastewater Treatment NQF4 qualification


For applicants with minimum of 5 years Wastewater experience:


Water and Wastewater NQF 5 Qualification.


For applicants with minimum of 2 years Wastewater experience:

National Diploma or National technical Diploma or NTC VI in Microbiology/Biochemistry/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/ Watercare/Water Sciences or


Water and Wastewater NQF 6 Qualification


For applicants with minimum of 0 years Wastewater experience:


B Tech (Advanced Diploma) in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering/ Watercare/Water Sciences or 3-year BSc in appropriate Natural Science or
Wastewater Treatment NQF 7 qualification or
4 years BEng/BSc (Hons) - Chemical Engineering/ Watercare/Water Sciences/Water Utilization/Appropriate Natural Science (NQF 8)
