Key Purpose
The Senior Process Engineer serves as the technical expert responsible for driving manufacturing excellence across all CCBSA plants by standardizing, optimizing, and continuously improving core production processes. This role leads the development of robust process control frameworks, enhances product quality and consistency, and reduces operational losses through data-driven insights and engineering best practices. Working closely with Plant Engineering, QFSE, Packaging, Utilities, and Manufacturing CI teams, the Senior Process Engineer provides advanced technical leadership in mixing, carbonation, pasteurization, CIP, and utilities performance. The role also supports new technology integration, leads process capability building, strengthens governance and compliance, and enables sustainable, reliable, high-performing operations aligned to CCBSA's productivity and sustainability goals.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Key Outcomes
Process Standardization and Optimization
Lead the development and implementation of standardized process control frameworks and parameters across all plants.
Drive optimization projects to improve yield, reduce losses, and improve process stability and reliability.
Define and validate critical control points (CCPs), process tolerances, and operating windows.
Technical Leadership and Collaboration
Act as the technical authority on core production processes including mixing, carbonation, pasteurization, and CIP.
Collaborate with Plant Engineers, QFSE teams, and Packaging teams to drive product quality improvements.
Support Manufacturing CI and Technical Coach in capability building and troubleshooting complex issues.
Process Monitoring and Performance Improvement
Establish and monitor KPIs related to process consistency, losses, and utilities consumption.
Analyze trends in downtime, variation, and deviation to implement corrective actions.
Implement statistical tools (SPC, Six Sigma, etc.) for real-time process monitoring and alerts.
Project Support and New Technology Implementation
Provide process engineering expertise for new line designs, upgrades, and equipment selection.
Support commissioning, validation, and qualification of new or modified processes and assets.
Liaise with suppliers and OEMs on technical specifications, FAT/SAT protocols, and performance guarantees.
Sustainability and Utility Efficiency
Work closely with Utilities and Engineering teams to reduce energy and water consumption.
Drive process improvements that support CCBSA's sustainability goals (carbon footprint, zero waste, etc.).
Governance and Documentation
Maintain up-to-date process maps, SOPs, and process risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, food safety, and regulatory standards.
Conduct periodic process audits and site assessments.
Skills, Experience & Education
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent
Postgraduate qualification in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, or Lean Six Sigma (advantageous)
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
Experience
7 years in a process engineering role within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), food & beverage, or manufacturing environment
Proven track record in leading process optimization, performance improvement, or technical projects
Experience working across multiple manufacturing sites or in a central technical function
Strong experience in leading technical problem-solving and process optimisation initiatives
Familiarity with integrated manufacturing systems and digital platforms
Experience with regulatory compliance and manufacturing governance (e.g., ISO, KORE, GMP)
Skills
Deep understanding of manufacturing processes: blending, carbonation, pasteurization, CIP, utilities
Proficiency in process simulation and modeling tools
Knowledge of SCADA, PLC, MES systems and integration
Strong data analysis skills
Familiarity with Six Sigma, FMEA, RCA, and Lean Manufacturing principles
Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills
