Duties & Responsibilities

Duties


Carrying out market survey and research;
Carrying out disposal of stores and equipment in accordance to the laid down regulations and procedures;
Coordinating the identification of unserviceable, obsolete and surplus stores and equipment for disposal;
Providing secretariat services to the Disposal Committee;
Coordinating periodic stock control;
Consolidating periodic stores returns;
Maintaining an up-to-date database of the University's assets;
Authorizing issuance of stores;
Coordinating preparation and management of inventory control register;
Implementing inventory and assets management techniques and approaches;
Implementing asset management systems;
Maintaining assets register, transfer and valuation;
Complying with Procurement Regulation;
Preparing periodic and annual supply chain management reports and returns;
Participating in quality management and performance contracting processes; and
Supervising assigned staff.


Required Qualifications and Competencies

For appointment to this grade, one MUST have:

Must Have


Six (6) years' relevant cumulative work experience, three (3) of which that should have been at the grade of Procurement Assistant I or in a comparable position;
Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Procurement, Procurement and Logistics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supplies Chain Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution;
Higher Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Procurement, Procurement and Logistics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supplies Chain Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution will be an added advantage;
Registered with relevant professional bodies; and
Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
