Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Real Estate Accountant who can bring structure, financial intelligence, and operational discipline to a growing real estate enterprise.
This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in fast-scaling environments and wants to play a strategic role in building strong financial systems — not just maintaining them.
The Senior Real Estate Accountant will oversee full-cycle accounting operations, financial controls, commission structures, reconciliations, reporting accuracy, and compliance across multiple business units.
You will work closely with executive leadership to provide financial visibility, support strategic decisions, and ensure scalable accounting processes are implemented across branches.
This is more than bookkeeping — this is financial stewardship for a high-growth real estate organization.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Oversight:

Manage full-cycle accounting operations (A/R, A/P, general ledger, reconciliations)
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closes
Implement and maintain strong internal controls
Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards
Prepare executive-level financial reports and performance dashboards
Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making

Revenue & Commission Management:

Oversee sales receivables, associate commissions, and compensation structures
Ensure accurate tracking of property transactions and revenue recognition
Monitor cash flow and forecasting across projects and branches

Operational & Process Optimization:

Design scalable accounting processes to support multi-state expansion
Improve reporting efficiency and financial transparency
Oversee purchasing controls and expense management
Supervise banking operations and vendor management

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

Partner with Sales, Marketing, Construction, and Operations teams
Support franchise and branch financial reporting
Guide junior accounting staff where applicable

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree is an advantage)
5+ years of progressive accounting experience (real estate or property accounting strongly preferred)
Strong working knowledge of GAAP
Proven experience managing commission-based revenue structures
Advanced Excel proficiency (financial modeling, pivot tables, forecasting)
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks
Familiarity with property management software (Yardi or similar platforms)
Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to operate independently in a fast-growth environment

Preferred Credentials:

ICAN / ACCA certification (or in progress)
Experience in real estate development, construction accounting, or multi-entity operations
Experience implementing accounting systems or process improvements.
