Job Specification:
Master's degree in any of the following fields, Public Health, Veterinary Medicine, Epidemiology, Clinical Studies, or a related field.
PhD in Environmental Science or Agricultural Science or a related field.
At least 10 years' experience managing complex, donor-funded health or research projects in low-resource, multi-site settings, with a focus on arid and semi-arid regions, including oversight of diverse field teams and cross-functional coordination.
Demonstrated leadership in project coordination involving multiple stakeholders, including academic institutions, government agencies, local communities, and international donors.
Proven experience coordinating the implementation of field-based research projects.
Strong understanding of zoonotic disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, and health systems strengthening in pastoralist or rural communities.
Experience ensuring compliance with research protocols, ethical standards, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
Ability to oversee and support capacity-building initiatives for local research and health personnel.
Competence in quality assurance, data integrity, and monitoring of project performance indicators.
In-depth knowledge of Isiolo County's health and operational landscape is an added advantage.
Strong commitment to equity, ethics, and community engagement in research.
Ability to work independently and travel frequently to project sites.
