Absa is looking for a Senior Specialist: Martech Automation to define, build, and scale our marketing technology ecosystem—enabling hyper personalised client engagement, real time insights, and measurable commercial impact.
In this strategic position, you will lead the design and execution of Absa's MarTech vision, owning the architecture of platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Data Cloud, and cloud environments including AWS and Hadoop. Your work will enable advanced segmentation, lifecycle marketing, predictive analytics, and automated, high impact client journeys.
You will collaborate across Marketing, Sales, IT, and Data Science, steering innovation through AI, automation, and data driven decision making—while ensuring robust governance, compliance, and platform reliability.

Role
Define and lead a bold 3 - 5ÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂyear MarTech strategy driving digital maturity and commercial growth.
Architect and operationalize Salesforce Marketing Cloud & Data Cloud to deliver personalized, insightÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂdriven journeys.
Integrate cloud technologies (AWS, Hadoop) to support realÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂtime analytics and predictive modelling.
Establish enterpriseÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂgrade data governance that meets GDPR, POPIA, CCPA, and internal compliance standards.
Own MarTech budgets, vendor relationships, and ROMI measurement.
Champion Generative AI, automation, and predictive analytics across the marketing lifecycle.
Streamline workflows to improve speedÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂtoÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂmarket and enhance operational efficiency.
Translate complex technology into clear business value for senior stakeholders.
Build strong crossÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂfunctional relationships and influence decisionÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂmaking across African and global markets.
Experience and Qualification
Bachelor's Degree (NQF7) in Marketing, Business, or related field; Postgraduate/MBA advantageous.
8 - 10 years of marketing experience in financial services, fintech, investment banking, or other regulated sectors.
7+ years' leadership experience in MarTech/AdTech ecosystems.
Deep expertise in Salesforce (Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud), AWS, Hadoop, and automation frameworks.
Proven success delivering measurable commercial outcomes through marketing automation.
Strong understanding of data privacy, governance, and compliance.
Experience working in agile, crossÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂfunctional environments.
