Senior Systems Administrator
ACDC Dynamics a leading manufacturer, importer, and distributor of quality products in the electrical, electronics, pumps, and tools industry.
The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of ACDC Dynamics' IT infrastructure.
This role ensures high availability, performance, and security of critical business systems, including servers, networks, cloud environments, and enterprise applications.
The incumbent will act as a technical lead within the IT function, supporting business continuity, driving infrastructure improvements, and mentoring junior IT staff.
Key responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems Management
Manage and maintain on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure (Windows/Linux servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems).
Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity services.
Oversee system performance, capacity planning, and availability.
Maintain virtualization environments (e.g., VMware).
Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
Network & Security Administration
Monitor and maintain network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, switches, routers).
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and best practices.
Implement endpoint protection, access controls, and monitoring tools.
Perform vulnerability assessments, patch management, and remediation.
Cloud & Modern Workplace
Manage Microsoft 365, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
Oversee email systems, collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint), and cloud storage.
Support hybrid infrastructure and cloud migrations.
Operational Support
Troubleshoot system outages and performance issues.
Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and processes.
Ensure SLA adherence and system uptime targets.
Project Delivery
Lead or participate in IT infrastructure projects (upgrades, rollouts, new systems).
Evaluate and implement new technologies aligned with business strategy.
Work with vendors and service providers for system deployment and support.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure systems adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.
Conduct audits, reporting, and risk assessments.
Maintain licensing compliance and asset management.
Leadership & Mentorship
Mentor junior administrators and IT support staff.
Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
Assist in developing IT standards, procedures, and best practices.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Information Technology / Computer Science or related field.
Relevant certifications preferred:
Microsoft Certified (Azure / M365 / Windows Server)
VMware (VCP) or equivalent
Minimum 5 - 8 years experience in systems administration.
Proven experience in enterprise IT environments.
Hands-on experience managing hybrid (on-prem + cloud) infrastructure.
Technical Skills & competencies
Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and/or Linux systems
Active Directory & identity management
Virtualization (VMware)
Microsoft 365 and Azure
Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls)
Experience with:
Backup solutions (Veeam or similar)
Monitoring tools ( PRTG)
