Job Description


A leading manufacturing company in the digital inks and packaging sector is looking for an experienced SHEQ Manager with strong experience in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and quality assurance to join their team in Ottery, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving ISO-aligned quality, safety, and environmental standards across manufacturing operations, with a stronger emphasis on EHS while overseeing packaging quality processes.


Responsibilities:


Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) processes and procedures
Conduct inspections and quality checks on processes and finished products
Write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Monitor, analyse, and report on quality performance data
Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to product quality
Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with standards
Collaborate with production teams to resolve manufacturing issues
Develop and maintain HSE policies and procedures in line with ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses across the facility
Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
Drive safety training, awareness programmes, and emergency preparedness
Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce safety protocols on-site
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Maintain records, permits, and licenses related to safety and facilities


Requirements:


Degree in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field
Professional HSE certifications (e.g., SAMTRAC or NEBOSH)
Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong experience in EHS (essential)
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and implementation thereof
Experience in SOP development and process improvement
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work independently and drive initiatives
