RCL FOODS is seeking two Silo Controllers - Miller to join our Milling division. The role will be based in Pretoria West and reports to the Supply Chain Manager.


Purpose of the role:


Responsible for silo operations with regards to raw material storage and raw material movement to manufacturing plants. Responsible for planning and coordinating inbound logistics, and to ensure contracts fixed with suppliers are delivered within the required time. Responsible to manage adequate grades per protein group to ensure stable grist to the mills.


Minimum Requirements


Grade 12
Wheat and Maize grading certification
Knowledge of inbound logistics and raw material handling in silo operations
Multilingual ability
Qualification added advantage to this role: Qualified Wheat & Maize Miller, Grain depot management qualification


Duties & Responsibilities


Liaising with production manager and head millers with regards to raw material movements to the mills
Liaising with production manager to supply the right protein wheat in the right blending bin to ensure accurate quality grist. Supply maize to production according to the milling plan
Responsible for the storage of raw material in the correctly allocated bins
Safe storage and handling of raw material in silos to ensure integrity of grades are kept in tack.
Communicate with maintenance department regarding maintenance on silo machinery.
Problem solving relating to offloading and material handling, cleaning and conditioning within the silo.
Assist the laboratory with raw material sampling, especially on the samples to be drawn to make up the grist.
Ensure sampling is happening to detect any slide gate leakages and action the repairs.
Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure seamless offloading as per agreed offloading targets.
Plan the silo grade allocation and minimum quantities per grade to be able to maintain the required grist per milling requirements.
Coordinate inbound logistics to ensure the contracts fixed by procurement are delivered on time to maintain the grist. Alarm Executives when
