Macsteel Fluid Control Secunda is looking for a driven and technical-focused Site Foreman to supervise the repair and servicing of Smith locks on and Off Site for SASOL at Secunda, Sasolburg, Natref and other sites while remaining actively involved in the technical servicing, assembly and repair of valve and fluid control systems. The site foreman will be the go between the Fluid Control Secunda Office and Sasol sites.
The role combines hands-on technical work while ensuring adherence to schedules, improving planning and execution of sites servicing and assembly jobs.


Minimum Requirements


Matric/ Grade 12 or technical qualification essential.
Engineering diploma/certificate (N3 or higher, B-Tech, Millwright).
Technical Drawing & design, essential.
Artisan qualification or engineering trade qualification advantageous.
Minimum 5 years' experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing/Production.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a technical environment
Strong understanding of interlock systems and fluid control products (Smith lock sequence diagrams, sleeves/Anchor design and valves dimensions) essential.
Experience with servicing and repairing fluid control Smith locks/valves.
Valid driver's licence essential.
Prepared to travel to sites and attend call-outs when required.
Prepared to work overtime when operational requirements demand.
Computer literate with the ability to complete reports and maintain documentation


Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Management:


Supervise the Fluid Control Valve Technicians.
Oversee the servicing and maintenance of Smith locks.
Oversee the assembly of fluid control related products.
Oversee the purchasing of spares required to carry out the task of servicing and repairing smith locks and other fluid control products.
Provide technical support and product guidance to internal sales teams, representatives, and technicians.
Assist with technical analysis of fluid control products.
Liaise with engineers, construction managers and product specialists regarding fluid control products.
Assist with technical queries relating to product functionality, installation, and servicing.
Provide technical input on product improvements and service procedures.
Carry out quality control checks on serviced and repaired fluid control products.
Ensure quality checks (e.g., QCP) are conducted on all jobs and projects during and after servicing and/or repair.
Compile and maintain risk assessments related to site activities.
Ensure SHEQ standards and safe working practices are always maintained.
Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained within the department.
Assist in site work, call-outs and on-site commissioning where required and must be available for Shutdowns.
Ensure customer deadlines are met to minimise downtime in customer operations.
Address and resolve complaints from internal sales staff, representatives, and product specialists.
Assess staff output through quality control processes on completed projects.


Customer & Stakeholder Management


Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and developers.
Conduct regular customer visits and site engagements.
Provide technical advice on Pretrochem/oil and gas products and applications.
Resolve customer queries, complaints, and service-related issues professionally and efficiently.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.


Operational & Commercial Coordination


Liaise with production, planning, and dispatch teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
Ensure accurate order specifications and delivery timelines.
Follow up on outstanding orders and customer commitments.
Resolve operational issues impacting customer service delivery.
Ensure sites required stock aligns with business requirements and planning.


Financial Performance


Achieve Site Work Monthly Production Target.
Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.


Compliance, Safety & Quality


Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and SHEQ requirements.
Adhere to safe working practices and report risks or non-conformances.
Maintain high standards of professionalism, ethics, and accountability
