We are seeking a creative, responsible, and highly organized Social Media and Digital Communications Manager to manage and grow the school's digital presence in a professional and child-safe manner.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management (End-to-End Ownership)

The manager is responsible for planning, creating, scheduling, publishing, and monitoring content across all Stella Maris social platforms.

Platforms to manage (non-negotiable):


Instagram (Main School Account)
Instagram (Campus-specific pages, where applicable)
Facebook (School & Campus pages)
X (Twitter)
LinkedIn (Corporate / Professional presence)
YouTube (Shorts + long-form school content)
TikTok (if approved by management)
WhatsApp Broadcast / Community (content input, not admin)


Responsibilities include:


Monthly content calendar (submitted ahead of time, not reactive)
Daily/weekly posting based on approved schedule
Captions, hashtags, tone, CTA — aligned with brand voice
Parent-facing content (events, reminders, achievements)
Student-focused but school-approved storytelling
Monitoring comments, messages, and escalation where needed
Ensuring zero "dead" platforms or outdated posts


Content Creation & Creative Direction

You are not a graphic designer, but you own the output.

This means:


Conceptualizing content ideas (campaigns, series, themes)
Writing strong copy (not lazy captions)


Working with:


Photographers
Videographers
Graphic designers
Reviewing and approving creatives before posting
Ensuring all visuals align with Stella Maris branding (colors, tone, quality)


Content types include:


School events
Academic achievements
Staff highlights
Student activities (approved)
Admissions campaigns
Announcements & notices
Milestones & celebrations
Values, culture, and legacy storytelling


Website Content & Updates (With IT)

This role does not code, but owns content accuracy.

Responsibilities:


Updating website content (text, images, announcements)
Working with IT to upload:

News items
Event updates
Admissions information
Notices and announcements
Flagging outdated pages and fixing them
Ensuring consistency between website and social messaging
Testing links, pages, and visibility after updates.




Newsletter & Official Communications

You are responsible for structured, professional communications, not random blasts.

Includes:


Internal newsletters (staff-facing, when required)
External newsletters (parents, partners, alumni)
Admissions campaigns & announcements
Event communications
End-of-term / special updates


Tasks:


Drafting content
Structuring messaging clearly
Coordinating approvals
Scheduling sends
Ensuring tone matches audience (parents ≠ staff ≠ external partners)


Parent-Facing Content Strategy

Parents are not an afterthought — they are a primary audience.

You must:


Proactively create content parents care about
Anticipate school calendar moments
Reduce confusion through clear digital communication
Align with Admin / Admissions on messaging
Ensure deadlines, notices, and updates are communicated before complaints arise


Digital Marketing & Campaign Execution

This role supports growth and visibility, not vibes.

Responsibilities:


Planning digital campaigns (admissions, events, milestones)
Scheduling posts and ads ahead of time
Supporting paid ads (copy + creative coordination)
Tracking basic performance (reach, engagement, growth)
Improving content strategy based on results


Planning, Scheduling & Deadlines (Non-Negotiable)

You are expected to:


Work ahead (minimum 2 - 4 weeks planned content)
Meet deadlines without reminders
Submit calendars, drafts, and creatives on time
Coordinate dependencies early (IT, Design, Media).


Collaboration & Cross-Department Work

You will work with:


IT (uploads, site updates)
Admin & Admissions (notices, campaigns)
Media & Design vendors
School leadership


You are expected to:


Communicate clearly
Follow instructions
Take ownership, not wait to be chased


Brand Protection & Quality Control

You are a gatekeeper.

You must:


Protect Stella Maris' brand reputation
Avoid low-quality, rushed, or unapproved content
Ensure spelling, grammar, tone, and accuracy
Maintain consistency across all channels


Additional Duties


Any other digital communications or content-related task reasonably assigned by management
Crisis or urgent communications support when required
Supporting special projects, launches, or campaigns


Requirements


Strong writing and communication skills
Proven social media management experience (schools or institutions preferred)
Content planning and campaign execution ability
Attention to detail (non-negotiable)
Ability to meet deadlines without supervision
Ability to work with creatives and technical teams
Professional judgment and maturity
Experience with design and content tools (e.g., Canva) is an advantage
Knowledge of safeguarding and child-protection standards is an added advantage
