Job Description
The Software Quality Assurance Analyst is Pedros' internal software-quality specialist, responsible for establishing and executing structured, independent quality assurance and testing practices across the Group's technology and digital transformation projects. The role ensures that software applications, integrations, workflows, reports and digital solutions meet approved business requirements, operate reliably across interconnected systems and are sufficiently stable for implementation.
Reporting to the Group Project Manager, the role works closely with project managers, business analysts, developers, vendors and business stakeholders to identify quality risks, develop test strategies, execute testing, manage defects and support User Acceptance Testing. It supports web and mobile applications, internally developed systems, vendor solutions, Microsoft Power Platform applications, POS integrations, transactional platforms, reporting solutions and operational systems across Pedros and its associated brands.
The role establishes consistent QA standards, templates, quality gates and reporting, giving project teams and decision-makers clear visibility of test coverage, open defects, quality risks and release readiness before systems are implemented.
Responsibilities :
Test Execution, Integration & Transactional Testing
Execute manual functional, system, integration, end-to-end, regression, smoke, sanity, usability and compatibility testing across relevant browsers, devices, operating systems and user roles
Test integrations between internal systems, vendor platforms, APIs, POS systems, payment services, databases, Microsoft 365 services and reporting platforms
Validate successful and unsuccessful transaction paths (error handling, retries, timeouts, cancellations, duplicates), data synchronisation and reconciliation outputs, with particular focus on financial, voucher, payment and loyalty flows.
Record test results with supporting evidence and perform exploratory testing to identify issues not covered by predefined test cases.
Quality Assurance Strategy, Planning & Standards
Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans and schedules, defining scope, test types, environments, dependencies, risks and entry and exit criteria for each testing cycle
Apply risk-based testing principles to prioritise high-impact business processes, financial transactions, security controls, integrations and customer-facing functionality
Estimate testing effort and provide realistic input into project plans, sprint plans and release schedules.
Requirements Review & Test Design
Review requirements, user stories, process maps, business rules and acceptance criteria to confirm they are clear, complete, consistent and testable
Identify gaps, ambiguities, edge cases, control weaknesses and quality risks before development is completed, working with the Business Analyst and Project Manager to resolve them
Design and maintain test scenarios, test cases, scripts, checklists and test-data requirements covering positive, negative, boundary, exception and end-to-end scenarios.
Link test cases to the relevant requirements, user stories or acceptance criteria to maintain traceability.
Defect Management
Log defects with clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, evidence, environment details and business impact
Classify defects according to agreed severity and priority definitions
Facilitate defect-triage sessions with developers, business analysts, project managers, vendors and business representatives.
Track defects through investigation, resolution, retesting and closure, identifying whether defects originate within an application or at an integration boundary.
UAT Support & Release Readiness
Work with the Business Analyst, Project Manager and business stakeholders to prepare the UAT approach and business-focused UAT scenarios
Confirm UAT environment, user access and test data readiness, and brief business testers on the UAT process and defect-logging requirements
Support users during execution and help distinguish defects from requirement changes, training needs, configuration issues or enhancement requests.
Track UAT progress, defects, decisions and sign-offs, and provide evidence-based release-readiness recommendations, ensuring outstanding defects and accepted risks are communicated before business approval.
Regression Testing
Develop and maintain regression packs for business-critical applications and recurring release cycles
Identify existing functionality that may be affected by new development, configuration changes or defect corrections
Execute regression testing before significant releases and after material changes, and track regression coverage and gaps across releases.
Recommend suitable candidates for test automation based on frequency, stability, risk and repeatability.
Requirements :
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline
ISTQB Foundation certification.
Experience:
5 - 10 years' experience in software quality assurance, software testing, test analysis or a comparable role
Preparing test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts and regression packs
Testing web applications, mobile applications, enterprise systems or transactional platforms
Performing functional, system, integration, end-to-end and regression testing
Managing defects through the complete defect lifecycle
Working directly with developers, business analysts, project managers, business users and external vendors in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid environments
Producing clear testing reports and presenting quality risks to stakeholders.
Advantageous:
Experience within QSR, retail, hospitality, franchising or multi-site operations
Testing POS, voucher, loyalty, payment, ordering or other high-volume transactional systems
Testing APIs and integrated systems
Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint and Dataverse
