Job Summary


We are seeking to recruit a hardworking, technically oriented, and reliable Solar Installation Technician Assistant to support the installation, maintenance, and servicing of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced technicians to ensure efficient project execution, quality workmanship, and compliance with electrical safety standards.


Key Responsibilities


Assist in the installation of solar panels, inverters, batteries, charge controllers, and other solar system components.
Prepare, organize, and transport tools, materials, and equipment required for solar installation projects.
Support the mounting and alignment of solar panels on rooftops and ground-mounted structures under the supervision of the technician.
Assist in electrical wiring, cable routing, and connections for solar PV systems.
Support technicians in conducting site surveys, measurements, and basic assessments of installation locations.
Assist in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting solar systems to ensure proper functionality.
Participate in routine maintenance, cleaning of solar panels, and inspection of system components.
Identify and report equipment faults, damaged components, and potential safety hazards to the supervising technician.
Ensure all tools and equipment are used correctly and maintained in good working condition.
Adhere to company safety procedures, electrical regulations, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Assist in maintaining accurate records of materials used, installation activities, and service reports.
Maintain a clean and organized worksite and ensure proper handling and storage of solar equipment.
Work collaboratively with technicians, engineers, and other team members to achieve timely project completion.
Provide professional and courteous support to clients during installation and maintenance visits.
Participate in technical training and continuously develop knowledge of solar energy systems and installation techniques.


Qualifications and Experience

Key Competencies


Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation, Renewable Energy, Solar PV Technology, or a related technical field from a recognized institution.
Minimum 6 months of experience in solar installation, electrical works, or a technical apprenticeship will be an added advantage.
Basic knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical wiring, and the operation of solar equipment.
Ability to read and interpret basic electrical diagrams is an added advantage.
Willingness to work outdoors, at heights, and in different field locations.
Physically fit, hardworking, and able to handle technical tools and equipment.
Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Solar PV certification, such as EPRA T2 or T3, will be an added advantage.
Technical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
