Role Overview
The Solar Technician will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting residential and commercial solar power systems — with a focus on reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
System Design
Design solar systems based on load analysis and site conditions
Properly size panels, inverters, charge controllers & battery banks
Installation
Execute full end-to-end solar installations
Install panel arrays, wiring, inverters, and battery systems
Commission newly installed systems
Troubleshooting & Repairs
Diagnose and resolve issues quickly across system components
Identify performance losses and efficiency gaps
Battery Systems
Configure batteries in series, parallel, or hybrid setups
Work with Lithium, Gel, AGM & Lead-Acid technologies
Apply correct charging profiles and safety best practices
Electrical & Maintenance
Interpret wiring diagrams and comply with electrical safety standards
Perform preventive maintenance and upgrades
Use diagnostic tools (multimeter, clamp meter, etc.)
Documentation
Record all installation, maintenance, and repair activities clearly
Added Advantage (Bonus Skills)
Experience with mini-grids or shared solar nano-grid systems
Knowledge of smart meters, load control, and energy monitoring
Field experience in Nigeria's power/solar industry
Ability to support or mentor junior technicians

Preferably living in Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria or willing to relocate
Reliable, honest, and punctual
Willingness to travel for field deployments
