Key Responsibilities


Assess communication, swallowing, cognitive-linguistic, and functional abilities; develop and implement individualised therapy plans.
Deliver interventions for communication and feeding, prescribe augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) solutions, and provide caregiver education and training.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, maintain accurate records and billing, support discharge planning, and contribute to patient-centred decision-making.


Requirements


Registered with the HPCSA Board for Speech, Language and Hearing Professions in the category Independent Practice (Speech Therapist), with experience in physical rehabilitation settings.
Strong expertise in dysphagia, aphasia, cognitive and motor speech rehabilitation, tracheostomy management, AAC, and caregiver education.
Passionate about rehabilitation, committed to ethical practice and continuous learning, and demonstrates accountability, empathy, teamwork, adaptability, and professionalism.
