Requirements :
Qualification that allows registration with SANC as Staff Nurse (Enrolled Nurse). Current SANC license to practice (2026). Demonstrate elementary understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices.
Willingness to work overtime, shifts, weekends and public holidays. Willingness to rotate within all wards/departments within the hospital according to operational needs. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and support the managers to ensure quality nursing care
Duties :
Perform a basic clinical nursing practice in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards. Promote quality of basic nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards.
Preparation of patients for diagnostic and surgical procedures. Effective utilization of material resources. Order stock and equipment in a cost-effective manner; Report loss or damage immediately Demonstrate basic communication with patients, supervisors and other clinicians. Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure good nursing care. Work effectively, cooperatively and amicably with people of diverse intellectual, cultural, racial or religious differences.
Display a concern for patients, promoting and advocating elementary care including awareness and willingness to respond to patients' needs, requirements and expectations (Batho-Pele). Relieve in other wards when necessary. Must be willing to workday and night shifts, and escort patients to other facilities for continuity of quality care.
