Duties and Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery documents.
Record all incoming and outgoing inventory accurately in inventory management systems.
Organize, label, and store materials, supplies, and equipment in designated storage areas.
Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock levels regularly.
Monitor inventory quantities and notify management when stock reaches reorder levels.
Issue materials, tools, and supplies to authorized employees or departments.
Prepare purchase requisitions for replenishing inventory.
Conduct routine stock counts and participate in periodic physical inventory audits.
Inspect inventory for damage, defects, or expired items and report discrepancies.
Ensure proper storage conditions to protect inventory from damage, theft, or deterioration.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the storeroom or warehouse.
Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or hand trucks when authorized.
Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure timely inventory replenishment.
Receive and process returned goods according to company procedures.
Verify the accuracy of shipping and receiving documentation.
Pack and prepare materials for shipment or distribution.
Maintain inventory security by controlling access to storage areas.
Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory and report findings to management.
Monitor expiration dates for perishable or regulated inventory items.
Ensure compliance with company inventory policies and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate filing of inventory records, invoices, and delivery receipts.
Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
Reconcile inventory discrepancies through investigation and documentation.
Prepare inventory and stock movement reports for supervisors.
Collaborate with vendors and delivery personnel during receiving operations.
Follow first-in, first-out (FIFO) or other inventory rotation procedures where applicable.
Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, or maintenance needs within the storeroom.
Train new store personnel on inventory procedures and storage practices when required.
Support cost-control initiatives by minimizing inventory loss and waste.
Perform other inventory, warehouse, and storekeeping duties as assigned by management.
