JOB SUMMARY

The Strategy Manager will serve as a key driver of Mshel Homes Limited's long-term vision and competitive positioning. This role is responsible for leading the development, communication, and execution of the company's corporate strategy across all business lines. Working in close collaboration with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, the Strategy Manager will translate market intelligence, stakeholder insights, and financial data into actionable strategic plans that accelerate revenue growth, operational efficiency, and market leadership within Nigeria's real estate sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning & Execution


Lead the development and annual review of Mshel Homes' corporate strategy, business plans, and long-term growth roadmap.
Translate the company's vision into clear strategic objectives, initiatives, and KPIs cascaded across all departments.
Monitor the implementation of strategic initiatives, providing regular progress reports and performance insights to executive leadership.
Design and maintain strategic planning frameworks, tools, and templates to support consistent decision-making across the organisation.
Drive alignment between departmental operational plans and the overarching corporate strategy.


Market Research & Competitive Intelligence


Conduct in-depth research on Nigeria's real estate market, including housing demand, land use trends, urban development, and buyer behaviour.
Perform competitor benchmarking and analysis to identify Mshel Homes' strategic positioning and areas of competitive advantage.
Track macroeconomic indicators, regulatory developments, and demographic shifts that could impact the business.
Generate market sizing analyses, feasibility assessments, and scenario planning for proposed new projects or market entries.
Prepare executive-level reports, strategy decks, and briefing documents for Board and Management review.


Business Development & Growth Initiatives


Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including new housing products, geographic expansion, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
Collaborate with the Sales and Business Development teams to design go-to-market strategies for new projects and product offerings.
Support the development of investment proposals, pitch decks, and partnership frameworks for internal and external stakeholders.
Analyse the performance of existing business lines and recommend strategies for optimisation, diversification, or divestment.
Liaise with the Finance team to model the financial implications of strategic options and investment decisions.


Performance Management & Reporting


Develop and maintain the company's strategic performance management system, including dashboards, scorecards, and metrics frameworks.
Track and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) across revenue growth, customer acquisition, project delivery, and market share.
Conduct post-implementation reviews of strategic initiatives to assess effectiveness and extract lessons learnt.
Present strategy performance updates and insights to the Managing Director and Board on a quarterly basis.


Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration


Facilitate strategy workshops, planning sessions, and retreats for senior leadership and department heads.
Partner with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure cohesive execution of strategic priorities.
Build and manage relationships with key external stakeholders including industry bodies, government agencies, and research institutions.
Support the Managing Director in preparing for Board meetings, investor engagements, and external presentations.


Innovation & Digital Strategy


Champion the adoption of innovative business models, technologies, and processes that enhance Mshel Homes' competitive edge.
Lead the exploration of PropTech opportunities and digital transformation initiatives within the company.
Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement across all departments.


QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Urban Planning, or a related field.
A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Strategic Management is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 6 - 8 years of progressive experience in strategy, business development, management consulting, or corporate planning.
Prior experience in the real estate, construction, or property development sector is a significant advantage.
Demonstrated experience in leading strategic planning cycles, business case development, and executive-level reporting.
Proficiency in data analysis, financial modelling, and business intelligence tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
Excellent command of PowerPoint and ability to craft compelling strategy narratives for senior audiences.
