Job Summary


Glow FM is seeking a competent, organised, and experienced Studio Manager to oversee the daily operations of our broadcast studio.
The ideal candidate must understand radio studio operations, live broadcast coordination, audio quality control, studio equipment handling, presenter support, and production workflow.
This role requires someone who can work calmly under pressure, coordinate people and equipment effectively, and ensure that programmes, news, interviews, recordings, and live sessions run smoothly.
The Studio Manager will work closely with presenters, newscasters, producers, engineers, and the management team to maintain professional broadcast standards and support the station's on-air and digital media output.


Responsibilities


Oversee the daily operation and organisation of the broadcast studio.
Coordinate live and recorded studio sessions.
Ensure studio equipment is properly set up before programmes, interviews, news bulletins, and recordings.
Monitor sound quality, audio levels, microphones, mixer settings, and studio signal flow.
Support OAPs, newscasters, guests, producers, and technical staff during live broadcasts.
Operate or supervise the use of studio consoles, microphones, playback systems, recording tools, and related equipment.
Work with the Engineering Department to report, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues quickly.
Ensure smooth handover between programmes, news bulletins, live shows, and recorded segments.
Maintain order, discipline, and professionalism inside the studio.
Coordinate studio bookings, programme timing, guest readiness, and production schedules.
Support recording, editing, packaging, and archiving of broadcast materials when required.
Help improve studio workflow, broadcast quality, and operational efficiency.


Requirements


OND, HND, Degree, or relevant technical/media qualification is an added advantage, but practical experience is very important.
Previous experience in radio, broadcasting, studio operations, sound production, or media production.
Strong understanding of radio studio workflow and live broadcast operations.
Ability to operate or supervise studio equipment such as microphones, mixers, headphones, playback systems, recording software, and audio routing tools.
Good knowledge of audio quality, sound balance, signal flow, and basic troubleshooting.
Leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
Ability to work calmly under pressure, especially during live programmes.
Must be disciplined, punctual, organised, and detail-oriented.
Must be able to work flexible shifts when required.
Basic knowledge of Adobe Audition, audio editing software, radio automation tools, or livestreaming tools is an added advantage.
