Job Description
We are looking for a skilled SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) - US Payroll Specialist with proven hands-on experience configuring and supporting US payroll within SAP. The role requires deep expertise in US payroll legislation, AMS delivery, and the ability to operate confidently across technical configuration, statutory compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Configure, support, and optimise US payroll schemas, rules, wage types, infotypes, and time evaluation components
Provide end-to-end support for payroll runs, corrections, retro adjustments, and post-payroll activities
Deliver Level 2 / Level 3 AMS support across incidents, service requests, problem management, and minor enhancements in line with agreed SLAs and KPIs
Perform root cause analysis for payroll issues, recommending and implementing permanent fixes to reduce repeat incidents
Design, implement, and support payroll interfaces with third-party vendors, finance systems, banks, and benefits providers
Monitor and proactively manage interface failures, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder communication
Ensure payroll configuration remains fully compliant with US statutory and regulatory requirements, including timely implementation of SAP Notes and legal changes
Assess legislative changes and advise on impact, risks, and required system changes
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for system configuration, payroll processes, and integration design
Support internal and external audits, applying segregation of duties, change controls, and approval workflows
Work closely with HR, Finance, IM, and external vendors to resolve payroll issues and align on payroll-related changes
Skills Required
SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) configuration and support
US country-specific payroll (SAP PY-US), including statutory, tax, and social insurance requirements
Payroll schema and rules development, wage type configuration, and infotype management
AMS incident, service request, problem, and change management
Root cause analysis and permanent fix implementation
Payroll interface and integration design with third-party systems
US payroll legislation and ongoing statutory compliance
Documentation, audit readiness, and governance controls
Stakeholder engagement across HR, Finance, and external vendors
Job Qualifications
SAP Employee Central Payroll certification or equivalent demonstrable experience with SAP ECP
Proven AMS experience supporting Payroll in a Run & Maintain environment
Experience with global payroll template rollouts with local US localisation advantageous
Exposure to SuccessFactors Employee Central integration with ECP advantageous
Experience supporting payroll in large, regulated enterprise environments (e.g. energy, chemicals, industrial) advantageous
