Job Summary

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all activities related to procurement, logistics, inventory, and distribution of medical and non-medical supplies. This role ensures that all supply chain processes are efficient, cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with the hospitals mission of delivering quality, affordable healthcare and training services guided by Christian values.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Procurement and Vendor Management


Oversee procurement processes including sourcing, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and vendor performance management to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality goods and services.


Inventory and Warehouse Management


Maintain optimal stock levels through effective inventory control, proper storage, stock rotation, and accurate record-keeping to minimize wastage and stock-outs.


Logistics and Distribution


Coordinate efficient distribution of medical supplies and equipment across hospital units and satellite facilities, ensuring timely delivery and accountability.


Budgeting and Cost Control


Support budget preparation and monitor procurement costs, ensuring prudent resource utilization and identification of cost-saving opportunities.


Compliance and Reporting


Ensure adherence to policies, statutory requirements, and healthcarestandards, and prepare accurate reports to support management decisions and audits.


Team Leadership and Collaboration


Provide leadership to supply chain staff, promote teamwork, and collaborate with departments to support effective service delivery.


Mission Alignment


Uphold the hospitals mission, vision, and Christian values by promoting ethical practices and service excellence in all operations.


Qualifications & Experience


Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field
Masters degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CSCP, KISM)
Membership in a professional body (e.g., CIPS, CSCP, KISM) and in good standing
A valid practicing license
Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience, with at least three (3) years in a managerial capacity, preferably in the healthcare sector


Technical and Behavioral Skills


Strong knowledge of healthcare procurement regulations and donor compliance.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
Integrity and ethical conduct.
Commitment to Christian values and the mission of the hospital.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in resource-limited settings.
