Main Tasks
Inbound Supply Chain Strategy
Develop and implement an inbound supply chain strategy aligned with production plans, business growth, and cost objectives.
Ensure raw material availability for all lines with zero production stoppages due to material shortages
Procurement Management (Local & Imports)
Lead sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier performance management for all inbound materials.
Manage local purchases and import procurement including forecasting, ordering, shipping timelines, and documentation.
Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and contract negotiations.
Inventory Planning & Control
Establish optimal inventory levels (min/max, safety stocks) based on demand, shelf life, and production plans.
Ensure accurate inventory records, batch traceability, and FIFO/FEFO compliance, especially for temperature-sensitive and perishable materials.
Minimize obsolete, expired, and slow-moving inventory.
Warehouse Management & Receiving
Ensure all inbound materials are received, verified and posted accurately in the system against approved purchase orders.
Enforce standard receiving, off-loading, inspection and put-away procedures for raw and packaging materials.
Ensure correct storage, labelling, segregation and FEFO/FIFO compliance for all inbound stock.
Manage warehouse operations, resources and layout to support efficient, safe and compliant inbound handling.
Drive inbound warehouse productivity, space utilization and turnaround time improvements
Ensure correct storage conditions for raw materials, ingredients, and packaging, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Ensure timely and accurate dispensing of materials to production as per approved production schedules.
Accountability - Pilferage, Supplier Deliveries & Quality Checks
Prevent, detect and investigate pilferage, losses and inbound stock variances, and implement corrective actions.
Validate supplier deliveries against purchase orders, contracts and delivery documentation, and raise claims for discrepancies.
Ensure all inbound materials undergo required quality, food safety and regulatory checks before acceptance.
Enforce quarantine, rejection and release processes in collaboration with Quality Assurance.
Maintain inbound inventory accuracy, traceability (batch, expiry, COA) and audit readiness at all times.
Imports & Logistics Coordination
Manage import planning including lead times, shipping schedules, clearing, and delivery to factory.
Liaise with clearing and forwarding agents to ensure timely clearance and compliance with customs and regulatory requirements.
Monitor landed costs and optimize freight and logistics expenses.
Quality, Compliance & Food Safety
Work closely with QA to ensure all inbound materials meet quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.
Ensure compliance with statutory, customs, and internal audit requirements.
Support traceability, recall readiness, and audit processes.
Systems & Reporting
Ensure all procurement, inventory, and warehouse transactions are accurately captured in the ERP system (Dynamics 365).
Generate and analyze inbound supply chain reports including stock cover, procurement spend, supplier performance, and inventory variances.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Collaborate with Production Planning to align material availability with production forecasts.
Partner with Finance on budgeting, working capital management, and cost controls.
Support R&D/NPD with timely sourcing of new ingredients and packaging.
Operational Excellence
Drive operational excellence across inbound procurement, warehousing, and inventory management to ensure uninterrupted production and cost efficiency.
Ensure end-to-end cold chain and storage integrity, maintaining strict temperature, quality, and food safety standards for all raw and packaging materials.
Implement and enforce standardized SOPs, ERP discipline, and data-driven controls to improve inventory accuracy and reduce waste, losses, and expiries.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material flow, storage utilization, and responsiveness to production requirements.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and develop the inbound supply chain team to achieve high performance and accountability.
Define clear roles, KPIs, and performance expectations.
Partner with HR on recruitment, training, and succession planning.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Key Competencies
Strong understanding of FMCG inbound supply chains, especially food manufacturing
Solid procurement, negotiation, and supplier management skills
Strong inventory planning and warehouse management capability
Analytical and and data-driven decision-making skills
High attention to detail, compliance, and food safety standards
Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
Academic / Professional Background
Bachelor's degree in Finance , Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Operations, or a related field
Professional certification (CPA, CIPS, CSCP, or equivalent) is an added advantage
Work experience
Minimum 6 - 8 years' experience in Supply Chain / Procurement roles within FMCG or food manufacturing
Proven experience managing local and import procurement
Experience handling temperature-sensitive and perishable raw materials is an advantage
