The Appointee should:
Completed Trade Test - Certified Competent as Electrician
Qualified Electrician Trade Certificate through a recognised institution and apprenticeship / 3 years post Apprenticeship/Qualification experience (can be concurrent with the PDL trade experience)
Candidates holding a QCTO (Section 26D) Trade Test, where the learning route is not specified on the Certificate, must submit the following: Statement of results issued by an accredited MQA trade test centre as well as evidence of training conducted at a technical training centre (e.g., Portfolio of Evidence, Logbooks). Should these documents not be submitted, the application will not be considered. Candidates holding S28 Trade Test certificates from non-Mining Sector centres will not be considered.
Grade 10 or Technical Trade Specific N2
Medically fit to work in the specific business area.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Achievement of safe production performance levels through the effective maintenance of equipment Attend and conduct Safety meetings. Conduct and participate in risk assessments. Allocate tasks to subordinates. Attend to breakdowns and emergencies as required. Ensure that material, spares and equipment are available as required. Ensure proper and adequate on the job training and coaching is provided to subordinates. Comply to environmental requirements. Exercise judgment with regards to replacement of components. Maintains a high quality of work. Provide information in a timely and accurate manner. Record results of all legal examinations in the appropriate format. Work in a sequence that prioritises work requirements. Completing job cards and description of work and spares used (PM's). Performing work to the required standards and specifications. Applying appropriate tools to complete tasks.
Operations Assist in establishing programs to minimise unplanned downtime on critical equipment. Participate in cross functional teams to address cleaning, lubrication and first line maintenance functions. Participate in the development of RCM-based task lists for all key equipment. Participate in failure analysis techniques for cross functional teams. Analyse maintenance history to identify recurring failure patterns. To ensure that preventive actions are implemented to ensure effective maintenance programs. Make formalised recommendation to the Engineers, Foremen and GESs. To ensure that maintenance schedules are agreed upon by production and engineering. Ensure that capacity planning is done on a daily basis, which includes both preventative as well as corrective maintenance tasks To ensure that all work is controlled through work orders and that all information loops are closed. Liaise with Supervisors to confirm that all technical manuals and documents are up to date and stored in a Technical Library. Participate in new equipment specifications. To participate in on-site and company RCM development and review for primary production equipment. Determines, in conjunction with Supervisors, that all facilities and tools are adequate for basic maintenance tasks. Assist with any other additional ad-hoc engineering tasks/projects as required.
