Job Summary:

WTS Energy is seeking a Surveyor to provide critical positioning support services for major engineering projects, including pipeline construction, facility upgrades, and seismic survey activities. The role is within a leading integrated energy company focused on advancing energy security and industrialization across Africa through sustainable solutions. The Surveyor will deliver geomatics survey requirements, ensure compliance with HSSE standards, and coordinate technical assurance for project deliverables. This position involves liaising with stakeholders, managing multiple projects, and leveraging new technologies to enhance survey workflows. Responsibilities:


Deliver comprehensive geomatics survey support for exploration, development, production, and asset management projects, ensuring precise positioning and control across major engineering initiatives.
Develop, review, and update geomatics specifications, service level agreements, and operational processes to align with industry best practices and statutory requirements.
Lead and enforce HSSE compliance by planning, auditing, and inspecting contractor activities and equipment, ensuring all projects adhere to rigorous health, safety, security, and environmental standards.
Collaborate with project stakeholders to influence design, scheduling, and delivery, while monitoring project costs and performance metrics to optimize outcomes.
Utilize operational experience and emerging technologies to enhance survey workflows and improve technical and cost efficiencies across company operations.
Drive continuous improvement by analyzing survey performance data, identifying technology gaps, and contributing to the revision and maintenance of geomatics technical standards.
Coordinate technical assurance activities for deliverables, ensuring onshore survey practices meet company and industry specifications.
Represent the company in engagements with professional bodies, regulatory authorities, partners, and contractors on technical and regulatory survey matters, including participation in conferences and knowledge sharing.
Act as contract holder for specialized survey positioning contracts, overseeing the delivery and quality of survey services.


Required Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Surveying or Geomatics (B.Sc. or B. Tech.) from a recognized university
Minimum of 8 years post-graduation experience in surveying, with expertise in Geodesy, Topographical, Engineering, Cadastral, and Hydrographic surveys
Proven project management experience within surveying roles
Registration eligibility with the national Surveyors Council (e.g., SURCON)
Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS suite and related geomatics software
Demonstrated competence in onshore and offshore positioning solutions, topographical and seabed survey support, engineering survey support, deformation monitoring, remote sensing, geo-information strategy and technology management, and geomatics consultancy
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess, interpret, and resolve complex technical issues
Excellent communication skills to clearly present findings and lead multidisciplinary teams
Proven interpersonal, influencing, and stakeholder management capabilities


Preferred Qualifications:


Experience working within the Oil and Gas industry or similar energy sectors
Familiarity with subsurface uncertainties, risks, and technical challenges related to surface and subsurface development projects
Ability to work effectively in collaborative, multi-disciplinary, and co-located team environments
