Job Summary


The System Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and optimization of the organization's ICT infrastructure, including servers, networks, data center resources, cloud services, and end-user computing environments. The role provides technical support to business users, manages ICT incidents, contributes to ICT projects, conducts user training, and ensures the availability, performance, and security of critical business systems.


Job Description


Install, configure, monitor, and maintain physical and virtual servers.
Manage operating systems, system software, and enterprise applications.
Ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability of IT infrastructure.
Perform system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.
Monitor infrastructure capacity and recommend improvements.
Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.
Manage cloud-based infrastructure and services where applicable.
Administer LAN, WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, and network security devices.
Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and network appliances.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Ensure network security, availability, and compliance with ICT policies.
Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and related network services.
Manage and maintain data center facilities and ICT equipment.
Monitor server health, storage systems, UPS, and environmental controls.
Ensure proper documentation of data center assets and configurations.
Coordinate preventive maintenance activities and vendor support engagements.
Support business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.
Provide second-level and third-level technical support to users.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and systems-related issues.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Support business applications and ensure minimal downtime.
Escalate complex issues to vendors or specialized support teams when necessary.
Respond to and resolve ICT incidents within agreed service levels.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
Maintain incident logs and ensure timely reporting and closure.
Participate in major incident response and recovery activities.
Develop and maintain operational procedures for incident handling.
Implement and enforce ICT security controls and policies.
Monitor system logs and security alerts.
Manage endpoint protection, vulnerability assessments, and patch management.
Support cybersecurity awareness initiatives and compliance requirements.
Assist in security audits and risk assessments.
Participate in planning, implementation, and deployment of ICT projects.
Coordinate infrastructure-related project activities.
Prepare technical documentation and implementation plans.
Support system migrations, upgrades, and new technology deployments.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Conduct ICT user awareness and training programs.
Develop user guides, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures.
Mentor junior ICT staff and provide technical guidance where necessary.
Promote best practices in the use of ICT systems and tools.
Coordinate with ICT vendors and service providers.
Monitor service contracts and support agreements.
Maintain accurate inventory of ICT assets and licenses.
Participate in procurement evaluations for ICT hardware and software.
Maintain up-to-date system, network, and infrastructure documentation.
Prepare periodic reports on system performance, incidents, and infrastructure health.
Document changes, configurations, and operational procedures.
Ensure compliance with ICT governance and audit requirements.


Requirements


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of active experience in system and network administration.
Relevant technical certifications (e.g., MCSA/MCSE, CCNA, CompTIA Network+/Security+) are strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux environments, Active Directory, Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/O365).
Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, and backup solutions.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to handle urgent technical incidents and work effectively under pressure
