Job Advert Summary


To manage, maintain and support Sleep Group's ICT infrastructure, systems, user access, backup solutions and end-user computing environment, ensuring the effective, secure and reliable operation of IT services across the business.
The role is responsible for maintaining ICT infrastructure and systems, supporting end users, managing access and backups, assisting with incident response and business intelligence activities, supporting OT infrastructure, and ensuring that the System Administration Plan and required operational processes are adhered to.


Minimum Requirements

Education


Grade 12 / Matric.
Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.


Experience


Minimum 5 years' experience in IT / Systems Administration.
Minimum 3 years' experience in a Systems Administrator or similar senior technical role.
Experience managing and supporting servers, networks, Active Directory, backups, firewalls and end-user environments.
Experience with IT infrastructure management and technical troubleshooting.
Experience working with IT vendors and service providers.
Experience providing end-user and after-hours IT support.
Experience working in a manufacturing or factory environment would be advantageous.
Experience with OT infrastructure would be advantageous.
Experience with Disaster Recovery planning and system testing.


Duties & Responsibilities


ICT Infrastructure and Systems
Management of ICT infrastructure, including:
Server rooms.
Server software.
Switches.
Cabling.
Routers.
Firewalls.
UPS.
Generators.
Cameras.


Other related IT infrastructure and systems.


Management of IT systems, ensuring that infrastructure, through vendors, is well maintained for efficient business operations and that the System Administration Plan is adhered to.
Assist with OT infrastructure and maintenance.
Travel between the two Johannesburg Factory sites weekly.
Software Updates, Patching and Antivirus
Management of the process of updating end-user machines and all servers with the latest software patches, including antivirus, as well as third-party applications to ensure machine protection and that machines function optimally.
Perform software configuration on stand-alone computers and laptops.


Backup Management


Managing the Organization's backup solution.
Ensuring backups are made on time.
Routinely verifying the integrity of such backups by restoring backups on a monthly basis.
Access Control and Security
Maintain and communicate the IT Access Control Plan.
Secure data at rest and in transit by effectively applying required security measures and constant monitoring to ensure the protection of data against internal and external security breaches.
Maintain and control the physical user access system to ensure optimal physical security at all times on an ongoing basis.
Maintain and manage Active Directory implementation.
Ensure all user access is reviewed and implemented according to job profile requirements.
Load and maintain fingerprint/biometric access for new employees and ensure user access is updated or removed as required.


End-User Support and Helpdesk


Help maintain and manage the helpdesk for the support of end-user computing.
Provide after-hours support of ICT Infrastructure and End Users.
Incident Response and Business Intelligence
Knowledge of incident response procedures.
Assist with business intelligence development activities.
