Key performance areas include (but are not limited to):
Daily management and supervision of the entire production process (from fruit receiving to pulp production)
Management of seasonal and permanent workers (approximately 88 seasonal workers)
Oversight of vehicles, trucks, and logistics (including maintenance and scheduling)
Ensuring that all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is used and properly maintained
Workplace safety and compliance with all health and safety regulations
Coordination of Marula fruit purchases from communities (Phalaborwa, Lulekani, Namakgale, and surrounding areas)
Maintaining good relationships with workers, traditional leaders, and communities
Stock management, quality control, and production efficiency
Implementation and monitoring of food safety and hygiene procedures
Reporting to the Production Manager and assistance with monthly reports
Management of factory maintenance, cleaning, and general facility management
Attendance of community meetings and support of Makanyi Foundation projects
Any other duties as required by the Operations Manager
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications, experience, skills and attributes:
Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
Relevant tertiary level qualification will be highly advantageous
At least 2 - 5 years' relevant experience in a supervisory position
Sound knowledge of Health and Safety and Food Safety requirements
Ability to plan, organize, co-ordinate effectively
Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure
Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
Networking skills (ability to engage stakeholders).
Influencing/ motivational skills
Effective leadership skills
Team player with strong relationship building ability
Willingness to work long, irregular hours when required
Own reliable transport essential
