DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Supervisory roles:
Lead site selection, survey, and feasibility assessments for SUN Mobility station deployments.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and partners to ensure timely and compliant installations.
Oversee import logistics for batteries, QISs, and technical equipment into Kenya.
Manage the commissioning, operations, and maintenance of battery-swapping stations.
Build and lead a team of support engineers and technicians to ensure seamless technical execution.
Drive preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure maximum uptime and safety.
Collaborate with business, logistics, and finance teams to ensure aligned and efficient rollouts.
Ensure regulatory compliance, quality standards, and safety protocols across all technical operations.
Monitor station performance; track KPIs and provide insights to leadership for continuous improvement.
Field Technical & Service Support:
Lead and manage field service teams for QIS and battery swap operations.
Ensure timely resolution of technical issues and customer complaints.
Develop SOPs and training programs for field technicians.
Battery Operations:
Oversee battery swap stations and ensure operational efficiency.
Manage in-house battery repair center including diagnostics, refurbishing, and testing.
Implement preventive maintenance schedules and quality checks.
Asset Assurance & Logistics:
Monitor and ensure the health and tracking of deployed assets.
Coordinate import logistics including customs clearance and documentation.
Liaise with vendors and logistics partners for timely delivery and compliance.
Workshop & Experience Centers:
Supervise workshop operations and technician performance.
Ensure experience centers are technically equipped and customer ready.
Drive continuous improvement in service delivery and customer engagement.
Spares & Inventory Management:
Manage spare parts inventory, procurement, and distribution.
Ensure availability of critical components and maintain optimal stock levels.
Implement inventory control systems and audits.
Planning & Operations:
Develop and execute operational plans aligned with business goals.
Monitor KPIs and service metrics to drive performance improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless execution.
Workshop Accounts & Reporting:
Oversee service-related accounts and budgeting.
Ensure accurate reporting of service costs, warranty claims, and asset utilization.
Present monthly performance reports to senior management.


EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:


10 - 12 years of experience in the EV industry, with exposure to battery systems, charging/swapping infrastructure, or vehicles.
A bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering field. A master's will be an added advantage.
Proven expertise in site selection, contractor/vendor management, and project execution.
Strong understanding of import logistics, warehousing, and technical compliance.
Previous experience in leading technical teams and cross-functional projects.
Hands-on experience in station operations, commissioning, and preventive maintenance.
Background in startups, EV infrastructure, or automotive technology is highly preferred.
