We are looking for a highly motivated Technical Sales & Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and sell a wide range of commercial equipment at customer sites.
Our clients include hotels, lodges, restaurants, fast-food chains, supermarkets, bakeries, hospitals, food processors, and commercial facilities, where equipment uptime is critical to daily operations.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise and sales ability, providing exceptional technical support while building customer relationships, identifying equipment needs, generating sales opportunities, and recommending suitable equipment, upgrades, spare parts, and maintenance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Field Service
Install, commission, test, and troubleshoot commercial equipment.
Train customers on the correct and safe operation of equipment.
Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and inspect equipment for wear or potential failures.
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults, replacing defective components where required.
Troubleshoot refrigeration systems and cold rooms (added advantage).
Respond promptly to customer service and technical support requests.
Complete accurate service reports, record parts and labour used, and update the ERP system.
Maintain toolkits, account for spare parts, and support stock control.
Follow Health & Safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
Sales & Business Development
Identify and pursue opportunities to sell commercial equipment, spare parts, upgrades, and maintenance contracts.
Visit existing and prospective customers to understand their equipment and operational requirements.
Recommend suitable equipment and technical solutions based on customer needs.
Prepare quotations, follow up on leads, and support the sales process from enquiry to closing.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with hotels, restaurants, hospitals, supermarkets, bakeries, food processors, and other commercial clients.
Identify opportunities for repeat business, equipment replacement, upgrades, and service contracts.
Work closely with the sales team to achieve technical sales and revenue targets.
Provide technical product demonstrations and explain equipment features, benefits, and operating requirements to customers.
Maintain accurate records of customer visits, leads, quotations, sales opportunities, and service activities.
Equipment Exposure (Added Advantage)
Experience working with any of the following equipment will be an advantage:
Commercial kitchen equipment
Refrigeration systems and cold rooms
Ice makers
Commercial ovens
Bakery equipment
Dishwashers
Coffee machines
Pressure washers
Pumps and motors
Electrical control panels
HVAC systems
Commercial laundry equipment
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, Mechatronics, or a related Engineering field.
Refrigeration certification is an added advantage.
Valid driving licence is highly desirable.
Minimum 3 years' experience in field service, maintenance, technical support, or a related technical role.
Proven ability or experience in sales, business development, customer acquisition, or selling technical equipment.
Experience with hospitality, retail, food production, healthcare, or other commercial clients is an advantage.
Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites within Mombasa and other areas as required.
