About You
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with established connections in the renewable energy sector.
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will lead the company growth initiatives within the renewable energy space, with a focus onsolar projects, mini-grids, and commercial & industrial solar solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical understanding of solar energy systems, proven experience in project development, and a proven track record of driving strategic partnerships and closing business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Drive the development and financing o fsolar mini-grid projects, including feasibility studies, stakeholder engagement, and project structuring.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders—regulators, financiers, communities, EPC partners, and equipment suppliers.
Lead proposal development, including RFP responses, concept notes, and business cases for energy projects.
Collaborate with the technical team to assess project viability, cost estimates, and technical requirements.
Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new solar products, services, and technologies.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory frameworks to inform Solaflix's strategic direction.
Support partnership development with development agencies, utilities, and government programs.
Represent Solaflix at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder forums to promote the brand and expand its network.
Prepare reports, presentations, and financial projections for management and investors.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
4 - 6 yearsof experience in business development, project management, or commercial operationswithin thesolar energy or power sector.
Experience inmini-grid project development, including site identification, design coordination, and stakeholder management.
Strong understanding ofsolar technologies, energy systems design, and regulatory environmentin Nigeria/Africa.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills for project evaluation.
Preferred:
Experience in fundraising, proposal writing, or partnership development with development finance institutions (DFIs) and donor-funded programs.
