We are looking to recruit a Technical Team Lead(Healthcare) to work within IT Healthcare team in the IT department of Clicks Group Services. The role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Applications Portfolio Manager.

Job Purpose
To provide technical leadership for development, support, and continuous improvement of healthcare solutions including all pharmacy, digital pharmacy and clinic capabilities.
The role is responsible for leading the IT Healthcare team ensuring the stability, performance, security, and scalability of systems, while delivering technology solutions that support business objectives and operational excellence.
Job objectives
Lead and mentor a team to deliver the IT strategy and roadmap for healthcare systems, aligned to business and enterprise IT strategy.
Ensure stability, performance, and availability of core enterprise platforms (e.g., LEAP, LEAP Delta, Allegra, Xprocure and related systems).
Participate in the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise applications, ensuring scalability, integration, and best practice architecture.
Drive continuous improvement and optimisation of business processes enabled by technology (Healthcare digital functionalities, Store Operational and Central pharmacy capabilities i.e. Central Pharmacy Call centre and Clicks Direct Medicines).
Ensure strong governance, controls, and compliance, including financial controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
Manage delivery of projects and system enhancements, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and value-driven execution.
Support recruitment, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning within the technical team.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure business alignment and value realisation.
Ensure integration of Healthcare systems with other platforms across the enterprise architecture.
Drive cost efficiency, vendor management, and technology optimisation across enterprise platforms.
Minimum requirements
Job Knowledge & Skills:

In depth knowledge of Good Pharmacy Practice & Regulations
Strong understanding of store and Central pharmacies' end to end business processes
Knowledge of enterprise architecture, system integration, and data flows
Understanding of IT governance, risk, and compliance (including audit and controls)
Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/DevOps practices
Desirable
Extensive knowledge of the Healthcare systems (including LEAP, Delta, Allegra, Xprocure)
Understanding of data governance and reporting requirements
Exposure to automation (RPA), AI, and digital transformation in shared services.
